1999: AB Timber Group was established by Aleksandrs Burnins who had years of experience in managing successful timber trading company. During first few years the company rented wood processing lines outside Riga and mostly produced pallet timber as well as wood stakes and poles for UK market.
2002: company moved its office and production lines to the Port of Riga in order to optimize transportation costs. This year new Latvian-Belarusian enterprise was established by Aleksandrs Burnins and his business partner in Gomel (Belarus) as a part of vertical integration strategy. The main purposes of the new company were ensuring raw materials delivery in time and further cost minimization. The same year new production line was bought and company started to produce new timber products with higher added value – floorboards and decking (terrace board).
2003: additional wood processing machine line was purchased and the company made a focus on education of its employees. New products (roof battens and fence boards) were added to the product portfolio of the company.
2005: new Latvian-Russian company was co-founded by Aleksandrs Burnins and his business partner in Pskov (Russia) allowing to benefit from Russian wood resources.
2006: Aleksandrs Burnins and his Russian business partner established another international Latvian-Russian company in Bryansk (Russia). During the following years both business partners developed affiliated companies and purchased several new production lines.
Starting from 2009 special emphasis was made on increasing export volumes and expanding business partners network. During the next years until year 2014 six new export markets were entered and most of company’s products were modified in order to meet all the quality requirements.
